While many
of my classmates waited for their parents to give them tuition every semester,
I toiled to attain an education.
When I was about to join secondary school in
2003, my father passed a way. I knew that my mother was incapable of seeing me
through school and the only way to acquire an education was through hard
labour.
I started
sweeping classrooms at school, cleaning and painting so that I could be allowed
to stay in school. My peers looked down
on me as a failure in life, but I never stopped work and therefore my
perseverance got me through secondary school until my graduation.
Now am
working as the IT Consultant in the East African Standard Newspaper in Nairobi.
“Anyone can work hard at something for a good cause and achieve it”.
